Our Mission 

Project Freedom Ride's mission is to connect unwanted and abandoned dogs in Texas and Georgia with families and rescues throughout the US and parts of Canada. By PFR providing our Texas Rescue Partners with funding, networking, and adoption assistance, we are able to help increase the number of lives saved by giving them a second chance with families and receiving rescues outside of their local high-kill states.

Providing a much-needed service to dogs in need is the driving force behind PFR.  We are their trusted companions in this life-changing journey from danger to safety.  

We are 100% donation driven and make anywhere from 1 - 2 transport trips per month thanks to everyone's support.

 Inspired by then 5-year old Roman, Project Freedom Ride grew organically over the years. Today, PFR is made up of a small team of people who work to ensure that all our transports run seamlessly so that rescues have a smooth sailing & pleasant journey -- from the origin to destination.

MEET OUR TEAM

​Starting with our young founder, Roman, down to the entire PFR team comprised of board of directors, volunteers and staff, Project Freedom Ride is fueled by one goal: to connect dogs to forever homes. ​

OUR FOUNDER: ROMAN

Our founder, Roman McConn, came up with the brilliant idea for Project Freedom Ride when he was 5 years old. He didn't like the idea that not all dogs make it out of shelters alive, so he did something about it.
